In my sophomore year of college, a friend told me that a large and elaborate anti-abortion demonstration was scheduled to be set up in the middle of campus the next day. I got an overwhelming feeling that I had to do something to make my fellow students feel safer and supported. When I got home to my dorm room, I channeled my feelings of anger and helplessness into these posters. 

I woke up early the next morning and taped the flyers around campus as the demonstrators set up their graphic display.

Seeing people stop to read the flyers or write their own messages of encouragement reminded me of the power of art and sharing supportive words. I felt so connected to my community ♡

I reprinted the posters in the fall of 2018 when a (thankfully smaller) group of demonstrators showed up on campus. I intend to put these posters up every year as long as I am a PSU student, and hope to pass along the torch when I graduate.
